Slow cooker shredded bbq beef sandwiches

Add barbecue sauce and garlic for a tangy spin on shredded beef shoulder roast. Serve on kaiser rolls for sandwiches everyone will love for lunch or dinner.

  •    Time: 8-10 hours
  •    Serves 6


  • 1 beef shoulder roast, boneless (2 1/2 pounds) 
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil 
  • 1 can (14 1/2 ounces) beef broth 
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic 
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce 
  • 6 kaiser rolls, split


  1. Season roast with salt and pepper. Heat neutral oil in pan over medium heat until hot. Place beef shoulder roast in pan; brown evenly. 

  2. Add garlic and brown in pan. Remove and deglaze pan with beef broth. 

  3. Place roast and garlic in slow cooker. Pour broth over roast. 

  4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours. Serve on bun with KC-style BBQ sauce.
